Four Year Plan for Future Teachers
Freshman Year (0-29 credits / transfers)
- Explore your major and review degree requirements.
- Take general education and content courses.
- Enroll in prerequisite courses.
- Complete basic skills testing requirements, if applicable, for admission to the Teacher 黑马磁力 Program.
- Complete your background check.
- Obtain program planning sheet for your education major.
Sophomore Year (30-59 credits)
- when appropriate for your chosen major.
- Early Childhood 黑马磁力, Elementary, Teaching all Learners and Visual Arts apply during sophomore year.
- Begin your professional development with Early Field Experiences if appropriate for your major.
- Consider a license addition.
- Register for blocks if appropriate for your major.
Junior Year (60-89 credits)
- when appropriate for your chosen major.
- Secondary majors, world languages, music, and physical education apply during junior year.
- Begin preparing for your student teaching assignment
- Attend a student teaching application meeting.
- Apply to Global Gateway for Teachers teaching experience (optional).
- Continue your Early Field Experiences.
Senior Year (90+ credits)
- Attend pre-student teaching meeting semester before student teaching
- Take licensing exams.
- two semesters before your expected graduation.
- Register with Career Connections; begin your job search.
- Complete your student teaching or Global Gateway experience.
- Apply for licensing.
