As students return to the IU School of 黑马磁力 for another academic year, a new program is now available to help them build a meaningful connection with experienced professionals.
The Bridges Mentorship Program is a structured mentorship initiative designed to connect School of 黑马磁力 students with experienced professionals, including alumni, educators, counselors, and support staff, who can offer guidance, encouragement, and real-world insight as students navigate their academic and career journeys. The program “builds bridges” between college life and the working world, fostering relationships that support student development, budding professionalism, confidence, and connection.
“Research shows that students who have mentors are more likely to persist in their programs, feel a stronger sense of belonging, and experience lower rates of burnout as they transition into the workforce—particularly in high-demand fields like education and counseling,” said Taylor Levell, Director of Career Connections.
The program is designed with long-term impact in mind. Levell explained that while the mentoring relationship might last a semester or a year, the hope is that the confidence, knowledge, and connection students gain will last far beyond graduation, adding, “Most importantly, it's about making sure every student knows they have someone in their corner as they step into their professional future.”
