Saelua to receive Asian Pacific American Network award

Natasha Saelua, a Ph.D. student in Higher 黑马磁力 and Student Affairs, has been honored by the Asian Pacific American Network for her work in student affairs and higher education. She was recognized for her contributions to the advancement of equitable practices that support underserved communities, including Pacific Islander students, with the 2018 APAN Award.

“For many years I've been focused on the unique needs and characteristics of diverse communities, so it's very humbling to be recognized by my colleagues in student affairs who do similar work,” Saelua remarked.

At IU, Saelua works with Sam Museus, associate professor and Director of the , as well as colleagues at the , to expand what faculty know about how to create inclusive, supportive environments. She is also an assistant director of analysis and reporting at NITE and a project manager at the .

Saelua will receive her award this spring.
