Joel's research interests are in positive psychology (especially the psychology of gratitude and the psychology of encouragement), Asian/Asian American mental health, and the psychology of men and masculinities. Some of his research has been conducted using international samples, for example from China, Taiwan & Singapore. He has provided consultation to a university in Singapore as well as to the Ministry of ºÚÂí´ÅÁ¦ in Singapore, on several projects including to introduce the Gratitude Group Program he developed to Singapore schools.
